Our story

A family idea that became Bloom.

Bloom started in 2014 as a family business. Siblings Nicole Stark and Will Hollander shared a deep-rooted love for cannabis and a belief that it could be a force for good, and they set out to build a company that would raise the standard for how cannabis is sold.

They brought in two people they trusted. Their father, Nate Hollander, had spent a long career in medical equipment sales, and he brought a focus on quality and on the patients Bloom serves. Peter Turco, a longtime family friend and lawyer, gave the team the legal foundation to build in a new and closely regulated industry.

Will's entrepreneurial drive and Nicole's business leadership shaped how Bloom grew. In 2018 the family opened its Maryland dispensary in Germantown, then known as Bloom Medicinals and today simply Bloom. In 2019 Bloom began serving Ohio, and it now has seven Ohio dispensaries, with North Columbus on the way.

From the first store to the newest, the idea hasn't changed: a cannabis dispensary should be simple, welcoming and consistent, wherever you shop. We call that Cannabis Done Right.
