Top cannabis concentrates in Ohio.

Concentrates pack the most THC per gram of anything on a dispensary menu. Here's what each type is, the concentrate brands to know on Bloom Ohio shelves, what they cost, and how to shop for them.

Types of cannabis concentrates

Concentrates are extracts with high levels of cannabinoids, mainly THC. They differ in how they're made and in texture:

  • Live resin. Made from fresh-frozen flower rather than dried and cured flower, to keep more of the plant's aroma. Sold as badder, sugar and sauce.
  • Live rosin and hash rosin. Solventless extracts made with ice water, heat and pressure instead of a solvent. Usually the priciest concentrates on the menu.
  • Badder or budder. A creamy, whipped texture that's easy to scoop.
  • Sugar. A grainy, wet-sugar texture.
  • Shatter. Brittle and glass-like; it snaps into pieces.
  • Diamonds and sauce. Crystalline THCA "diamonds" in a terpene-rich liquid.
  • Kief. The loose trichome powder sifted from flower, often sprinkled on a bowl or used in infused pre-rolls.
  • RSO and FECO. Thick, full-extract oils sold in syringes.

Concentrate prices and buying tips

At Bloom Ohio, most 1 g concentrates run about $40 to $66 before tax and discounts (October 2026; prices vary by store). Solventless rosin sits at the top of the range; shatter and other solvent-extracted products cost less.

  • Read the label. It shows THC content and the extraction type.
  • Start small. A little goes a long way with concentrates.
  • Store it right. Keep concentrates sealed, cool and away from light, and out of reach of children and pets.

Buy only from licensed dispensaries

Concentrates sold at licensed Ohio dispensaries are made by state-licensed processors and tested by state-licensed labs. Products from unlicensed sellers aren't, and may not be what the label says. Since Senate Bill 56 took effect on March 20, 2026, intoxicating hemp products can't be sold outside licensed dispensaries in Ohio.

Questions

Common questions about concentrates in Ohio.

Are cannabis concentrates legal in Ohio?

Yes. Adults 21 and older can buy concentrates at a dispensary licensed by the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control, and registered medical patients can shop the medical menu. Buy only from licensed dispensaries.

What's the difference between live resin and live rosin?

Both start with fresh-frozen flower. Live resin is extracted with a solvent that's then purged out; live rosin is solventless, made with ice water, heat and pressure. Rosin usually costs more because it's more labor-intensive.

How strong are concentrates?

Much stronger than flower. The THC percentage is printed on the label. If you're new to concentrates, use a very small amount and wait before having more.

How do you use concentrates?

Most people use a dab rig or an electronic dab device, or add a little to a bowl or joint. Kief can be sprinkled on flower. Ask a budtender which format suits your setup.
